Founders
Astor & Rowe is led by co-founders Gabe Randall and Alex Rabin, whose combined 30-plus years span nearly $4 billion in projects and more than $800 million in sponsored capital.
Gabe Randall
Gabe is responsible for development execution, leading design,
entitlement strategy, development, and construction for the
company. Prior to co-founding Astor & Rowe, Gabe was Chief
Operating Officer of B2K Development, a leading developer of
multifamily, for-sale, and seniors housing across the Northeast.
Gabe previously held leadership positions at iStar (NYSE: STAR),
as Senior Vice President, where he led monetization of the
company's development and joint-venture assets prior to its
merger with Safehold, and at DDG, where he managed luxury
residential developments in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Gabe started his career as an analyst at The Howard Hughes
Corporation (NYSE: HHH), covering the company's strategic
development assets, and later managing various phases of the
South Street Seaport Historic District redevelopment.
Gabe has held the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at
Columbia GSAPP since 2017, where he teaches courses on building
adaptation and reuse. He is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis
Obispo.
Alex Rabin
Alex Rabin leads acquisitions and capital markets, sourcing and structuring all deals and capital for the company. In addition to co-founding Astor & Rowe, Alex is a Co-Founder of PEAK Capital Advisors, where he led acquisitions and capital raising efforts. During his time at PEAK, he helped scale the platform to approximately $700 million in assets under management and was involved in the acquisition of more than 80 properties.
Previously, Alex spent seven years as a Vice President at RWN
Real Estate Partners, where he sourced and underwrote
acquisition opportunities, supported the execution of firmwide
transactions, and oversaw asset management across portions of
the firm's portfolio.
Earlier in his career, Alex was a Senior Analyst at TIAA-CREF,
where he supported the firm's acquisitions and asset management
activities from 2012 to 2014. Prior to TIAA-CREF, he worked in
acquisitions at Stellar Management.
Alex received an MS in Real Estate Finance from New York
University and a BA from the University of Michigan. He lives in
New York City.
